We are pleased that you are interested in taking part in a part-time-study or a temporarily research stay at the University of Applied Sciences in Jena. To facilitate your first steps into this new chapter of your life we have compiled all necessary information for you under this heading.

The applications of students from partner universities who come to the University of Applied Sciences Jena for a temporarily study or research stay have to be sent directly to the International Office:

Application deadline:
The complete application documents have to be handed in by 30th June for the respective winter semester and by the 31st December for the summer semester.

After successful aplication you will be sent a study admission for a temporary stay at the EAH Jena. For applicants out of Non-UE-states the study admission is basis for visa.
Studying at the EAH JenaExchange students are allowed to study multidisciplinary, i.e. they can choose study courses out of the whole offer of the current semester. All kind of language courses offered by the EAH Jena can be taken as well. Please bear in mind that courses of the Masters' programmes require certain previous knowledge as they are at an advanced level.
After arranging your course plan for the semester you must not forget to get the following done:
You have to note all changes of the originally proposed study programme abroad in your Learning Agreement. In case you have not yet filled out a Learning Agreement, please use our original Learning Agreement.
You have to fill out carefully the Fächerübersicht. Do not forget to let it sign by the lecturers.
Both documents have to be handed in latest 4 weeks after the beginning of lectures at the International Office! Both, the Learning Agreement and the Subject Overview, establish the basis for your Transcript of Records.
Support for Exchange Students / Erasmus-Incoming by our student tutors
The Tutoring Programme of the International Office claims as its task to help you getting acquainted in Jena and at the EAH Jena. Therefore, every exchange student can count on the support of a student tutor which will help you with the following issues:
- Welcome you on your arrival day.
- Accompany you to the student dormitory and hand over the key.
- Support you in administrative issues (City registration office, Foreigners registration office, Health insurance, Bank account opening).
- Support you in any issue regarding the enrolment.
- Help you with arranging your course plan.
Every student tutor is trained and therefore prepared for the job. The student tutor will get in contact with you via e-mail before your arrival, i.e. you can already asked questions and clarify problems if existent. As long as no student tutor is supplied for you your contact person at the International Office is Kay Neumann (Kay.Neumann(at)fh-jena.de).
At the International Center (Johannesplatz 26) there are many institutions and groups organized with several offers for foreign students. Thea EAH Jena also has an office there which offers advice for our foreign students outside of the university. Comfortable couches and free use of a computer pool invite you for a longer stay. You will find detailed information on the official homepage.
Das Auslandsreferat (Student Council of Friedrich Schiller University Jena)
made it its business to public an actual list of tertulias in Jena and organise tandems for interested students. Int.Ro has its office at the International Centre and organises a range of international events throughout the year.
The student association
Verein Erasmus Alumni in Jena organises a number of interesting cultural events for Erasmus students of Jena, i.e. the legendary Erasmus Party at the beginning of every semester, excursions, visits to the theatre or museum and bowling.
